TWO month pictures!

We went to our friends, the Murrays', last Tuesday (9/29). Angela took some two month photos of Caroline that are just amazing! We are blessed to have such wonderful friends and as an added bonus, we get two amazing photographers as well! We love you guys! Thank you for these great pictures!

Here is just a sampling of the ones Angela took.

She had David holding Caroline up in the air. It made for some very cool pictures!

Gotta love this. She's holding on to her Momma there!

I finally lost my cord on Saturday!

This past Thursday (10/1), we went to see Dr. Shade about that fact that Caroline had not lost her cord yet. Dr. Shade said that after I messaged her Wednesday, she and some of the other doctors got together to talk about Caroline's cord. They said that it could mean that she has a thyroid problem or also something like "failure to thrive". Well, they checked her newborn screen and it showed that her thyroid was normal. And our little girl is definitely not in the "failure to thrive" category. She nurses wonderfully and is growing great (she was 12 pounds even on Thursday)! So, the only other option was just that she didn't want to let go of her cord (of her Mommy ;) ). So, Dr. Shade put some sort of nitrate on Caroline. It didn't hurt, but 2 days later, on Saturday, she lost her cord.

David had just finished changing her and he went to pick her up. He felt something hard on her back and it turned out that her cord had fallen off and stayed in her gown. I can't believe it is finally gone! Her belly button is just so cute! We are working on getting it clean and are planning a bath for tonight or tomorrow (the doctor told us to wait 2-3 days after she lost it to give her a bath).

So, below is a video and some pictures. We had to commemorate this occasion! It took 9 weeks and 2 days!

*Don't worry about the line around her cord. The doc said it is fine and will wear off.

What I Love About You...9 Weeks

I know I must say this every week, but I really can't believe you are NINE weeks old! At times, it seems like it was just yesterday when you came into this world, but at other times, it seems like forever ago! I still picture you as this little tiny, 23 inch, 7 lb. 4 oz girl, but on Thursday at the doctor you were 12 pounds even! I just can't believe it! You are getting so big!!!!

I love...
-how I found you the other day. You slid down in your positioner which caused the positioner to hold your paci in your mouth. You couldn't get it out even if you tried.

-the little line that your paci leaves on your cheeks. (You have to look really close! Do you see it?)

-how cute you looked the other day when it was cold and we were trying to make sure you were warm for our outing.

-watching your Daddy give you a bottle. This was the third bottle he had given you, but the first picture I took. I was too busy videoing before!

-your little flower-covered pants that used to be Annagail's. I know you and Annagail will be great friends one day!

-to see you when you "hold" your paci. You had your thumb in your paci while you slept the other day. It was so sweet!

-your sweet little birth-marked leg. I'm so glad I get to share that with you!

-the many ways you sleep. I know I say this all the time, but it's so cute!

-how your Daddy just had to try you out in your Bumbo the other day. You did pretty well for being only 2 months old! You have really good control of your head and have had that for a while now. You held your head up for a good bit, but I didn't manage to get a picture of that.

-how much you love your Daddy! It's so wonderful to see you both together. I can just see him light up with so much joy when he looks at you. You are both such a wonderful blessing to me!

-to watch you smile. It's an amazing thing how you smile at me. You love to see my teeth! You almost always give me a huge smile when I smile showing my teeth.

-how completely sweet you look when you are zonked out! I had to wake you up on Thursday morning so we could go see Dr. Shade about your cord and this is how I found you. You were sleeping so soundly, I just HATED to wake you up!

-how you just go with the flow. You are such an easy-going baby that we can do about anything. We didn't get back from the Murrays' the other night until after 10pm and you still did so great!

I love you, sweet Caroline! You bless this Momma's heart!

What I Love About You...8 Weeks

I Love...

-to listen to you cooing. It's such a sweet, sweet sound!

-watching you smile. You do it so much more frequently now and there's nothing like smiling at you and you smiling back!

-the way that you have stretched out your sleep cycles at night since I cut out caffeine! You slept SEVEN hours in one stretch last night!

-how you are growing bigger every day, but you still fit into MOST of your newborn clothes!

-cuddling & snuggling you up to me tightly and just getting to love on you!

-how you took your first bottle (breast milk) almost two weeks ago (9/13/09) and just SUCKED it down so fast! We couldn't believe how fast you ate it!

-how you are just so sweet when we are out. One of our friends was so surprised to hear you fuss a little bit the other night when we were at her house. She said she hadn't heard you fuss yet! You are such a good baby!

-how I am starting to know what your cries mean. I know you are tired when you start crying suddenly and out of the blue! That usually means you want a nap. ;)

-how sweet you look in all the cute and stylish outfits your Nonna and Aunt Carrie bought for you!

-how it looks like you are eating my hair in this picture. Daddy thought it would be funny to put you on my shoulders. :D

-the ring Daddy bought me in celebration of your birth! Here we are just after your Daddy gave it to me this past Friday.

-how your hair makes a cute little swirl in the back.

-the many weird positions your Daddy puts you in. It's so funny how they make you so happy!

He used your sleep positioner as a back rest to make you sit up in your bassinet here.
It was so cute!

-how you throw your hands and feet in there when you are waking up.

-how you hold your paci better and better each day!

-how your Daddy "set" you up the other day. I love how the second picture looks like you were gut laughing, but you were actually falling over and your Daddy was catching you!

-how you matched your Daddy the other day. We didn't plan it, but you look so cute together!

Your Daddy loves to set you in your Boppy and the other day, you slowly worked your way down to the floor. Of course, as always, you were so cute!

I love you, sweet Caroline! You are the light of my life!
I am so glad you came to be our blessing!
