What I Love About You...11 Weeks

11 Weeks!

I Love...

-to watch you play with and grasp your toys on your playmat. You are so cute!

-how you are enjoying your hands now. You are so cute when you bring them to your face and play with them. Of course, it has just increased your "slobber mania"! We call you the "slobber monster"!

-to watch you sleeping. This is you in one of your new Aden & Anais wraps!

-how you stretch your gowns out when we pull them all the way down over your feet. It's just so funny!

-how cute you look with your blanket on you now that it has gotten cold here. You really love it and always smile when I start to lay it on you in your carrier!

-how you make sucking motions in your sleep. It's just so cute!
-to watch you smile at me!
-to watch you smile at your Daddy! You really enjoy him and it makes me so happy to see you two together!
-to watch you play on your changing table and to also play with you. You just love it! It's so funny!

This is how we found you on Tuesday. You had worked your swaddle up over your face. You really scared me, but it apparently didn't faze you in the least.
This is one of Daddy's recently discovered positions for you.
This one is for David's parents. Caroline is watching a DVD they gave her.
Such a cutie!

Here is just a fun video for all!

Caroline's First Bath! ~ 10/6/09

Caroline finally got to have her first bath! Her cord fell off on Saturday, October 3rd and the doctor told us to wait a few days for her bath so she got it on the 6th. She screamed through her first and second baths, but by her third, she was enjoying it. I really enjoy giving her her baths and she is starting to enjoy them more and more! Here are a few pictures. She is so cute!

What I Love About You...10 Weeks

10 Weeks...WOW!

I Love...

-how you put your hand on your paci to hold it in. I tried to get a good picture, but as soon as the light from the camera came on, you would move your hand.

-your cool sunglasses that the Lawsons gave you. Daddy says you are already learning how to say, "no more pictures, please!" to the paprazzi.

-watching you sleep on your play mat.

-watching you sleep. I just hated to wake you up this day, but it was getting close to bedtime and I was hoping you would actually sleep that night (and you did)!

-this picture of you! It is probably my favorite picture of you that I have taken. You are so gorgeous!

-how you have discovered your hands over the past week or so. It's so neat to watch you munching on them. ;)

-how lady-like you looked in your sleep gown in your bouncer the other day.

-watching BAMA games with you! You already enjoy them so much and we are already teaching you how to say, "Roll Tide Roll"!

-how you love to play on your changing pad. It's amazing to me how much you just enjoy sitting there and talking and playing!

-watching you wake up.

-how big you are getting! This is the last time you will wear this onesie. It's too small for you. :(

-how cute you look sleeping in your swing! You just zonked out this day, but it wasn't long before you woke up. You teased your Momma with sleep alot this day!

I love you, sweet Caroline! I am enjoying you more and more each day. You are amazing!

TWO month pictures!

We went to our friends, the Murrays', last Tuesday (9/29). Angela took some two month photos of Caroline that are just amazing! We are blessed to have such wonderful friends and as an added bonus, we get two amazing photographers as well! We love you guys! Thank you for these great pictures!

Here is just a sampling of the ones Angela took.

She had David holding Caroline up in the air. It made for some very cool pictures!

Gotta love this. She's holding on to her Momma there!

I finally lost my cord on Saturday!

This past Thursday (10/1), we went to see Dr. Shade about that fact that Caroline had not lost her cord yet. Dr. Shade said that after I messaged her Wednesday, she and some of the other doctors got together to talk about Caroline's cord. They said that it could mean that she has a thyroid problem or also something like "failure to thrive". Well, they checked her newborn screen and it showed that her thyroid was normal. And our little girl is definitely not in the "failure to thrive" category. She nurses wonderfully and is growing great (she was 12 pounds even on Thursday)! So, the only other option was just that she didn't want to let go of her cord (of her Mommy ;) ). So, Dr. Shade put some sort of nitrate on Caroline. It didn't hurt, but 2 days later, on Saturday, she lost her cord.

David had just finished changing her and he went to pick her up. He felt something hard on her back and it turned out that her cord had fallen off and stayed in her gown. I can't believe it is finally gone! Her belly button is just so cute! We are working on getting it clean and are planning a bath for tonight or tomorrow (the doctor told us to wait 2-3 days after she lost it to give her a bath).

So, below is a video and some pictures. We had to commemorate this occasion! It took 9 weeks and 2 days!

*Don't worry about the line around her cord. The doc said it is fine and will wear off.
